(Excerpted from Cindy’s blog)
Our road to New Zealand seems to be fraught with bumps on our path. (Or judder bars as they are called in NZ). For example, problems with financial papers which took 2 hours to straighten out; our driver-less car which was set in reverse and no hand brake on backed into the neighbor’s fence which now has to be replaced; a hole in our borrowed air mattress that we ended up taping but ended up sleeping on the floor anyway; and assorted other “bumps”. (Including a nasty cold that I have managed to catch).
But as those events are annoying we are enjoying our get-togethers with friends and family! Great meals and conversation. When we get back maybe we should pretend to be going somewhere else just so we can have more of them.
After the garage sale, we took two trips to Goodwill and then Rick put some assorted stuff that was left up on the street side with a “free” sign. Amazingly Most of it was taken. What little was left, the garbage guys nicely took for $10.
That being out of the way, and the packers having come and gone with no surprises, we are sorting thru whats left and getting the house ready for renting. And making time for more good-by parties.
