Cindy’s World: Christmas, New Year and Sarah, Oh My!

(Excerpted from Cindy’s blog)

I have really not been very active on my blog of late. So this is what has been going on…

Sarah arrived very early on a Sunday morning. We picked her up and spent the day walking the beach, showing her around and catching up on stuff. It is so great to have her home! I feel almost normal again!

We had a very nice Christmas! We got packages in the mail which was just as exciting as opening them on Christmas day. So double pleasure. Our tree was unexpectedly crowded with gifts. We opened presents and then headed out to the west coast to see the baby gannets. We had visited the sea birds a few weeks after we arrived when there were just wee eggs. Now the babies are stretching their wings and will leave the nest in January. So it was fun to see them before they are off to Australia. We had a picnic lunch on the beach then returned home to watch some movies.

For a New Year’s surprise, we may be getting our shipped container early! Our transport contact said it may arrive January 5th. That will be great but we will believe it when we see it.

We saw the new King King movie and all enjoyed it. I thought it was a little long in a couple of scenes but we all liked the style of the movie. So now we have seen the 3 blockbuster holiday movies and really liked them all. One of Rick’s gifts to the family was a new DVD player which plays all region dvd’s. Now we can catch up on some rented flicks.

So in conclusion, a very nice Christmas, some re-bonding with Sarah and looking forward to a fresh new year!

Here are some photos of our hike through a farm that is also a park. Max even tried to catch a sheep. He will need some shepherding lessons I think!

The Shakespear Farm leases land to the ministry of defense. We walked on the lands occupied by sheep and cows and stayed away from the bullets and shells!
